The upper and sole are stitched inside out before the shoe is turned, creating soft edges and exceptional flexibility. Supple leather or patent forms the upper, cotton lines the interior, and an adjustable cord runs around the opening. A thin leather sole preserves the characteristic lightness.

This is not a shoe for rain, broken pavement, or a day requiring extensive support. The soft upper reveals the shape of the foot and sizing can be exacting, especially across different leathers. Protect the sole if daily city wear is intended, store it with light shaping, and loosen the cord rather than cutting it. Minor creasing is inevitable and more convincing than rigid newness.
