Arrival must be earned and the landscape remains stronger than the services usually attached to beauty. There are no beach clubs to mediate the encounter, only shade, water, rock, and time.

The cove was formed by a landslide on Sardinia’s Gulf of Orosei and became a protected natural monument. Springs beneath the sea cool the water and contribute to its startling clarity. Boats must remain offshore, preserving the swimming area and quiet near land. The hiking route begins on the Golgo plateau, dropping substantially through exposed terrain before the harder return ascent.

Access rules, reservations, fees, and daily limits can change, so consult the official Baunei information before setting out. Carry ample water, food, sun protection, proper footwear, and everything back again. Pebbles make a mat useful and water shoes optional. There are no supplies at the cove, phone service may be unreliable, and the climb out punishes a day organized only around the photograph.

The world has many more convenient beaches and several with softer sand. Goloritzé matters because protection, geography, and effort preserve a sense of proportion between visitor and place. Its beauty is not improved by consuming every viewpoint or arriving unprepared. Reserve properly, start early, swim within conditions, and leave before fatigue turns the ascent into resentment.
