It fits against a wall, opens without a hand, closes quietly, and holds enough for a household without becoming industrial. Its appearance is deliberately neutral. The useful design work happens at the pedal, hinge, rim, and liner, where lesser bins create daily irritation.

A broad steel pedal operates a damped lid rated for repeated use, while an internal hinge lets the can sit close to the wall. The removable liner rim lifts for changing bags, then closes over their edges to hide them.
